Answers to Your Frequently Asked Transmission Questions

Q: How often should I have my transmission fluid changed?

A: We recommend every 2 years or every 40,000 km for all automatic transmissions.

Q: How do I know if I have a transmission problem?

A: When you see your check engine light come on, your transmission may have a problem. Fluid on the ground under your vehicle, any strange vibrations or noises coming from the transmission area, or issues with accelerating are signs your transmission may be in trouble.

Q: How often should I have my transmission checked?

A: Dale’s Transmissions recommends that you bring your vehicle in once a year to have it check.

Q: Do you offer same-day service?

A: Yes, most repairs can be done the same day. For larger transmissions/drive line repairs, it can take up to two days.

Q: What kind of warranty does Dale's Transmission offer?

A: Dale's Transmissions offers a minimum of 1 year or 20,000 km warranty on all repairs and up to a 3 year 60,000 km warranty on transmission repairs.

Q: Should I service my transmission myself?

A: Todays transmissions are sealed, computer-controlled hydraulic-operated, gear box assemblies. Most require special tools for any type of repair including general maintenance. Trying to repair your transmission at home could lead to costly repairs and damages.
